The CompTIA A+ certification is a tried-and-true entry-level certification that nearly every organization’s IT department looks for and trusts. This certification proves your ability to support enterprise IT infrastructure using the most up-to-date technology possible.
Organizations face constant threats and an IT team that can set up a secure infrastructure is a must if they want to stay competitive and protect valuable customer data. Additionally, the A+ certification proves you have a strong understanding of how hardware and software work together and how to best utilize them to create a strong IT foundation. This certification helps you build skills that build on additional certifications down the line and will become the cornerstone of your IT career.
Skills honed through this certification include installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and optimizing hardware and operating systems across multiple different devices and platforms. Additionally, the A+ certification helps to support an individual’s ability to set up and secure multiple operating systems, desktop and SaaS applications, data management, cybersecurity, privacy, IoT, scripting, virtualization and cloud, as well as hardware.
PREREQUISITES
Before starting your journey to become CompTIA Server+ certified, we recommend that you meet the following prerequisites:
Prior to starting CompTIA A+ training
- An understanding of the Windows operating system and how to operate a computer.
- Know how to create directories, subdirectories, and manage files.
- Able to Use a web browser and navigate the internet.
- Possess an understanding of computer hardware and software components.
OR
- Have passed the CompTIA IT Foundation (ITF+) Certification exam
Prior to taking the CompTIA A+ exam:
- Completion of our CompTIA A+ training program.
- 9 to 12 months hands-on experience in the lab or field.
- Thorough understanding of all topics detailed in the exam objectives.
